Has Miller Lite really been destoying breweriana?

#1

Post by hemmings »

Aah, firmly grasping the 3rd rail here but....

A Miller Lite ad released in march straight up says they have been scouring the internet buying breweriana featuring scantily clad women and destroying it. Near the end of the ad it says look at your parents, in closests, and send them your "bad sh#t" and they will make compost and feed it to worms.

Anyone here actually sell anything to them or think they really did this? I remember when Miller sold off a lot of breweriana about 2000 or so.

Not posting a link as they all seem to have commentary now since they pulled the ad. Just search Miller Lite women ad and you can find one.

Interested in breweriana with Native American images or language of all kinds.

I only saw this ad after the Bud Light controversy even though it came out in March.

That's just weird. So it's ok to destroy brain cells, contribute to alcoholism, crush the little guys, and offshore all your profits to dodge taxes and undercut the very people buying your product, but OMG we don't condone girls in bathing suits? I guess they're just predicting a future where these materials show them retroactively in a poor light even though everyone did it.

Reminds me of the first time I went to a WalMart, at midnight to get the new Metallica cd. They had a big display, it was going to be weeks before any other local stores got it. And.... they bleeped every curse word in the thing with no warning sticker or notice. So, you're gonna charge a $10 premium over regular retailers, get it out at midnight and bend over backwards to promote it, and essentially trick me into buying a version that's been trampled on by your conservative values? What exactly do they stand for? I got it- money. They want more money. They must by now, and I'm sure now INBev too, have learned that taking a political side costs them far more than it makes them. I boycotted Wal-Mart for about 15 years over that, costing them far more than the $25 they soaked me for. Inbev even managed to tick off everybody, not just half the people. If only actual, direct political contributions had as bright a light shined on them.
Better to drive 950 miles and kick asz than go a thousand miles and get nothing.

I call bullshit unless anyone can provide an actual link to this so called ad. MolsonCoors still uses women on mostly paper pieces. Mainly on their malt liquor brands. I can say that the distributor I work for no longer will produce banners or case price cards featuring scantily clad women. Times are a changing people, and will continue to do so.
