Bay State Ale

#1

Post by DanielinAk »

Just finished this Bay State for a client.
Wasn’t really hopefully but I like a challenge and different rust to work on.
After three hours soaking in hot acid I rinsed in cold water. Resoaking it in hot acid two more hours and rinsed again. Then I soaked it two hours in cold acid to slow the process down as a t of rust came off after the second rinse (5 hours).
Checked the cold acid dip every hour and rinsed, looked good but the tough spot over the Ale looked like it stopped while the rest of the cans had improvement.
Last soak was a mild acid dip in hot acid for an hour. Then I let it dry for an hour in the sun after the final rinse. Total time 9 hours on this can.
