Pearl Harbor & Tora Tora Tora Movie

#1

Post by pinnacle-project »

My wife and I were fortunate enough to visit the Arizona and Missouri Memorials at Pearl Harbor a couple weeks ago. During the Arizona tour, we were told the movie Tora Tora Tora was made using a partnership between American and Japanese filmmakers. The resulting movie is a very historically accurate representation of what occurred at Pearl Harbor. We ordered the movie and watched it tonight. If you have not watched it before, please consider doing so. If you do not want to wait for a Blu-ray to arrive in your mailbox, it is currently available for steaming on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, YouTube, Vudu, and Google for $3.99.

Strange but true, I had never seen Tora Tora Tora before. Odd because growing up I watched plenty of WWII movies with my Dad and I still enjoy them. However, when I watched this one, it did not seem familiar so I don't think I had ever seen it.

It is one of the best and most historically accurate, along with the original Midway from the 70s.

My Dad took us to see Tora, Tora, Tora in the movie theater in 1970.
I think I was in the Third grade. Also, later in life at my old job in
California, I worked with a man that was a sailor on the USS Missouri
when the Japanese signed the surrender papers in Tokyo Bay.
