We just blowed up 2016

#1

Post by Scott Rollert »

You'll want to intentionally hit the wall if you end up the winner this year. The crusty prize for having the worst luck in the 2016 edition is this beauty...

The rules are pretty much the same as last year with one exception. Since NASCAR trimmed the starting field by 3, I will do the same. This year's qualifying position into the Chase For Imperfection is 33rd. If the driver you pick ends up finishing 33rd, you earn a point and automatically qualify for the Chase. When the Chase begins, a point is added for the guy(s) whose pick finishes the worst. Most points accumulated at the end of the season wins the lemonhead Croft. Winner need not be present.

I will update this post after each race and keep a running tally of qualifiers and their points.

Here's to spin outs, mechanical failures and wrecks!

Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I qualified into my own contest. Paul Menard is the man...

I will recuse myself due to a conflict of interest. I don't want to win my own can.

Hard to believe in August I was tied for second place and now I am in the running for the boobie prize instead. Oh well, it's my fault. I made some dumb mistakes.

NASCAR doesn't give any prizes to someone that spins out, flips, hits the wall, and catches on fire because of a loose lug nut. Here you'll get a crusty Croft.

The final results I looked at had Kenseth finishing 7th (pinnacle-project} and Johnson finishing 11th (Thatsus).

I forgot to list the Martinsville results in the commentary post, although the current standings were correct after the Martinsville race. I think I got this straightened out.

Final standings for 2016!

Thatsus...7 points
pinnacle-project...5 points

In true "We just blowed up" fashion, the 2 guys fighting it out both picked drivers who crashed out in the finale at Homestead. Edwards limped in one spot ahead of Keselowski for a stellar 34th finish. But 35th wins the Croft for Thatsus.
