RB Fantasy Football 2015/2016

#1

Post by Sea Monkey »

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!? ................................................... (Go Browns!)

It is that time again boys and girls. We will be doing a RB Fantasy Football League again this year. We do an ESPN standard league with a live "snake style" draft (date and time determined later.). EVERY player will be responsible for a can payout (except the winner) with a conservative minimum value of $50. Top 4 teams will make a playoff round. Top 4 teams win a payout. Same formulas as last year. I can elaborate more on that later.

Depending on how many people want to play, we will either have 1 or 2 leagues. A league is a minimum of 10 teams and can be larger if needed.

We use a ESPN free league. You do NOT have to pay anything to join ESPN. You WILL have to open a free account with ESPN. This is a PRIVATE league and you will have to receive an invitation from the Commishaner (Me) to join. RB members only, not your buddy from down the road. When you sign up for a ESPN account, you will have to provide ESPN with your email address. REMEMBER which email address you gave them. I will need that address to send you an invitation to join the league!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY: Please respond that you would like to be in HERE in this thread THEN PM me your REAL name and the email address you used for ESPN. Also please write in the email: "I would like to join the RB FFL and agree to a can payout of a minimum of $50 vale at seasons end." You can cut and paste that statement if you wish. PLEASE reread the previous statements on joining so you can do it correctly. I apologize for having to put that last sentence in there but if you have ever tried to get multiple people here to do the same thing, it's sometimes like trying to herd cats.....lol.

Please PM me with additional questions.........

Looks like we need 7 more to have 2 leagues. If we are able to do that can anyone think of a way to tie the two leagues together competitively.

My suggestion

Maybe the at the end of the season the winner of both leagues are judged by the difference between their points scored for and points scored against. The team with the highest positive balance wins overall.

Then everyone with a team in the losing league sends that overall winner a full can from their local micro brewery. The winner gets 10 cans and 10 beers to sample.

We can do up to 20 per league though I would like to keep them smaller. In a "big" league, some people will be way behind and out of it early. Not as much fun like last year when 8 of 10 teams had a real shot very late in the season. If we are short, I will play in both leagues.......

i think if two leagues we play it like normal. when the two leagues crowns it champions, we use the points they gained the final two weeks of the championship to crown the best of the best. they may have some of the same players but will have different point totals .

some people work on aquiring some better cans throughout the season when they feel they will need to pay. might not work to list before hand.

I like this idea but I would prefer to get a can at the next show I go to. I only have a handful of spare cans and they are all $1 dumper cans. If I end up going to Canvention, I can pick up something there otherwise I would need to wait until Indy in October.

Another thought on posting cans prior: I like to ask the guy I am paying what he collects so I can tayler the pay out to his specialty if possible. Everyone collects differently. I think the IDEA behind posting them before the season is to make SURE people are putting up something decent. Nobody wants to be paid with a bunch of slag. We will just have to go on the honor system. I will monitor the payouts at the end of the season. Remember, it is a CONSERVATIVE evaluation of AT LEAST $50 in can(s).

Yes, we can do a 14 team league. We can do up to a 20 team league. I will close the sign up in a day or so. If we have 14 people, we will do 1 league.
