Drewrys-Goebel WF
Here is my un-rubbed Drewrys-Goebel Withdrawn Free Can. The overlying label is the common non-IRTP silver Drewrys with red-bordered white oval, USBC 56-02. I acquired this can as is, with overlying silver paint missing near seam revealing copper finish and glimpses of words "exportation" and "revenue." So far I've had no great urge to rub it out. Others have documented this as a reliable rubout combo ...

Very cool. I'd leave it as is.

Re: Drewrys-Goebel WF
Not an easy one to rub out. Chris Longopener addressed this in another thread a while back. I'm with Chuck, I actually like it as is, best of both worlds. Seebs is right too ... I've gone so far as having the can of rubbing compound out, the rag in my hand and the can in front of me. It's not about keeping the easy Drewrys, but keeping both, I guess!

Re: Drewrys-Goebel WF
As I said in the other thread the worst part I've had with each of the Drewrys with Goebel WF's has been the transition between the top silver and primer that is over the copper. The copper is so very micro thin that it's easy to rub off the copper with one swipe and then you're into the primer and bare metal underneath. Generally, the problem is you don't realize it until it's too late. Eventually I'll get a good one and be able to get at least a good side panel (which of course is the most important part!)

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Re: Drewrys-Goebel WF
While playing the RB Banner game I came across this post from a couple of years ago. I recently picked up a rubbed out version of the Goebel Extra Dry WF can. Whoever rubbed the can out did a great job. Here it is next to my example of a dumped can. The dumped can is the can in the USBC and possibly the best known dumper example.

Who rubbed it out, they did a good job. When I tried to rub mine out it did not come out to good. Mainly because it was not evenly round but more shaped like a stop sign LEON.
