Indian or Native American Themed Labels
Been working my way through the Kay label books (still need to get 4 though) looking for images and or names that have connection to Native Americans. I'm an archaeologist what else could I do... I thought I had a pretty good handle on what was out there, even if I didn't have all that many of them.
Not Even Close. There are probably going to be 400-500 that I don't have, many of which I have never even heard of. I'm making a master list in Excel and am happy to share it when I get that far. Really surprised to find the Aztec language (Nahuatl) is used in a number of CA labels. Chapultepec and Moctezuma for example. And some other even less obvious ones like Sequoia which is a corruptions of Sequoya- the Cherokee man who invented/wrote their alphabet.
Other stuff like Hopi and Apache are pretty clear both from the image and name but I am making columns so they can all be sorted by imagery and or name, among other things.
If you have labels that would fit that you know are not in the Kay books (and are irtp U perm PP or Pro) please let me know. Debating if I should scan the mini photo's or not. May do a trial run at that and see if its worth while. I'll shut up and show some eye candy now....
Nice totem poles, Alaska is an Aleut word that means something about towards the Sea.. This is a Tavern Trove image for a label that went for 224 on Ebay.. I need one... This U Permit Chippewa Pride Bock went for 429 what a cool label...
I am interested in all kinds of breweriana along the same lines so holler if ya can help a brother out.... Andy

Re: Indian or Native American Themed Labels
Those are incredible... Are they as tough as I fear? or are they obtainable? Have not marked 3 of the 8 Kay books and am already at close to 300 Indian beer labels... One of the crazists is Willuhava... want to say from Nebraska pre pro. That word does not show up on the web anywhere at all.

Re: Indian or Native American Themed Labels
Thanks, Got 2 more of the books for my birthday- and rumor is I get the last 2 for Christmas. Have started building my composite list using imagery, names or words, and combo's with both. Found several interesting ones where the brand itself is a Native American name or meaning but is not obviously so.... Could not get that off the search page even with a bunch of scripts allowed.... are the images tiny or higher rez than the books themselves? thanks, Andy

Hello Andy - you would need to submit a member application. Once your account is established and you log in, then you can view wide images of any item that has one on file (most labels do).
Here's the membership application for beercoast.com: https://beercoast.com/index.php?p=member_app
And here's a sample wide image:

The Western Brew is a oddball large 24 fluid ounces. or 1 pint 8 oz's. Most labels are either 12 oz. or 32 oz.

Re: Indian or Native American Themed Labels
Wow! what a great bunch of labels, @hemmings Personally, I've never accumulated many labels of any type. Here's a link to a page of Canadian western labels with a few native themed. If you follow the "back to albums list" link there are a few more pages of Canadian labels including a few other labels with the native theme...
