Can Company Logo
Just curious. This is the only instance where I come across the Can Company Logo as a statement or a sentence versus the standard icon (triple "C") being used everywhere else. Has anyone come across something like this anywhere else?

Re: Can Company Logo
I've seen that on a couple of cans. Probably sodas. I'll have to hunt around to find them but I'll see if I can.
Interested in all flat and Cone Soda and Water cans.

Re: Can Company Logo
My curiosity is this.
The mating black can has a symbol for 1949 as its date. That's nearly 14+ years since canning began. It's an unusual approach to identifying the can company after all those years.
Could it be a prototype, test or a sample version? Mine has gear marks from the removal of the bottom lid.
I've got older cans with the large triple "C's" with plant numbers.
If we can't locate other brand cans with identical can company ID, can we say that can is unique and possibly not a production run?
Sorry, just thinking out loud...

Re: Can Company Logo
It's a production run. Brewing Co. of America and Carling used it on both Black Label and Red Cap.
The 2 Brewing Co. of America Black Label cans just come from different can plants? (I probably save more fine line differences than I should.- keithker

Re: Can Company Logo
@Ted Wolfe
OK. So it is unique to only two cans from Cleveland.
I guess the next question would be to ask, was that canning company statement ever used by any other brands of beer?

Re: Can Company Logo
Wolpe's Catalogue doesn't list them either. They all seem to share the Canadian Breweries LTD notation, which may be the reason for the difference?

Re: Can Company Logo
Here's my dumper if it matters. It's the carling version. Before I collected variations of my dumpers I had 2 different can company versions of this can. Wish I could remember what it was.

@bantam10
Thanks for sharing that, Ted.
Here's the three I got. All three are by Brewing Corp Of America. The black and faded white are by American Can Co and both show the Keglined logo. The better of the two white ones is by Continental Can Co with the sentence rather than the triple "C" Can Co symbol.
