Any Storz collectors out there?

#1

Post by Cap-Sealed »

I picked up this Storz Lager at the Cabin Fever Show as I knew it was an upgrade. I compared it with the shelfer and it is different. The one I just picked up (on the right) has a Nebraska Permit # on while the other doesn't among other differences. I'm guessing it is a known variation but I had no idea... I love the Opening Instructions on the lid!

Here's a link to a thread showing two different variations with the permit number. Our resident Storz expert considers your new one very tough. Nice score!

Thanks Mark and good seeing you at the show!
You're welcome, Ed. I recalled the post on the Storz cans and who posted it, so it was easily located. I hadn't paid a lot of attention to variations on that Storz can because of the shift in my focus years ago, but it doesn't surprise me because there are three variations on the red Storz Winterbru cans.

Yes, good to see you again also! Cabin Fever always seems to sneak up on me and I've missed a few, but I'm making a concerted effort to be there every year now. It's about the only show I see you, Bob and Andy at unless I go to Canvention.

They both have the permit number, just arranged differently. I’ve dug patents pending medal cans twice, in Wyoming and Minnesota. Both were the one on the left (more common one).

Contrary to the deranged collector , this article was published in Rustlings in 2010 and a year before that in The Roadrunner chapter. Eric Claussen was the author so "Vince" did not discover this variant.

PS After 30+ years of this BS , it may be time to consult an attorney for legal action for slander.
