Dumping Mass and Maine, May 2019
Went up to Wester Mass on May 20th. Met with Mark K. and Jon L. to do some digging. We rehit a big campers dump from the 50s. Almost all commons this time, althoguht we have found some Rheingold girls there before. LOTS of Schaefer, Rheingold, Knickerbocker, Black Labels, Krueger beers, and Buds. But also 8 and 12 oz Goebels, Camdens, etc. Even found a Gun thers, which was apparently stalking me from DELMARVA. Then we revisited an area with lots of smaller 1930s dumps. Lots of j-spouts, but all toasty Old Toppers Snappys and Brockerts. Also dug my first Lion Ale OI. Have found lots of Lion Ales there, but this was the first OI.
Not much to show here. The Genny is obviously a later addition. I am happy with the Lion OI.
These are from the lake dump. Mostly commons, but I am trying to see how many Bud and Rheingold variations I can dig. When we arrived I found that last October I had left behind a bucket full of cans and a digger. All the cans in the bucket were ruined except for the Camden. Fortunately they were all pretty common.
Then we went to a new spot Jon found. I showed the pics from there on another thread. VERY crusty 30s cans, but got a Stroud Ale!
Then Mark and I drove to Beverly, Mass to meet Charlie. We packed everything into my little KIA Niro and met Matt in northern Maine. Rented a nice cabin for several nights.
In Maine Matt, Charlie,Mark, and I found a huge campers dump dating from about 1950-1963. Lots of variety. I lucked onto a vein of Dawsons flats.
Cleaned
Matt digging.
Found a very cool milker sign in nice shape.
After cleaning.
Old Chrysler truck in woods. The tailgate still had green paint on it. If it had been a Chevy I would have taken it (the tailgate) home...
All of my take-home. Note the moose skull.
More pics of cleaned cans to come. MarkB

It was a Chrysler Truck. Engine was gone. Found several old cars in the woods. Will post a separate thread of them later.BrooklynBeer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:00 pm any idea what the car was? looks like motor intact. Worth more then a few bucks in my car club circle if it was a model T.
That's Mom Cat. She's a relatively tame feral that we brought with us when we moved. She lives in the garage and goes in and out through a cat door in the back. MarkB

Cool sign and great cans you found. Amazing how the cleaning process brings these relics back to life. Nice looking kitty you have as well.

I have not soaked it yet. I want to see if it can be straightened first. MarkB

Probably the way to go there - it will have a crease no matter what but the graphics & color look worth being careful with the approach. What is the brand?

..and that's why you should always upload your pics to the RB site instead of hosting them on your own... The RB pays to host your images.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
