I'm not aware of anyone ever using it, but who knows.
You should try it!

Re: Evapo-rust
I use it all the time. Have had mixed results but will continue using. I leave cans in for 5 hours and check progress. For crustier cans I'll leave in for 10 hours. Works excellent a slight surface rust. One negative is that it is expensive!

Re: Evapo-rust
I have use Evapo-rust. In fact I just brought one this summer as I was looking for other kind of rust-remover. ( Since I can't no longer find Rustbeeter). Evapo-rust work good on cast iron piece or steel. I did try it on can.(1 can only). In my experiment, You will get the rust off, but the color will not be bright. So I did another experiment, Just the lid only. It look better on the lid only but not on the label. Here a photo lid cleaning. before and after. One other thing I did . Once I got done soaking the lid , I wash it off, because of black film. then dry little bit , the polish the lid. I only did bottom side of the lid. I have other picture , but not on cans, other metal part. I have a picture before and after cleaning but it on my cell phone !!!
