How Do You Haul Your Canvention Pickups Around the Trade Floor?

Post by rick78 »

OK - so a very basic question here. I am attending Canvention which will be the first can show I've been to since the '70's. I cannot recall......for those looking to pick up cans but not having a table, how do you typically haul around your accumulation? Bring cardboard flats with you? Do some sellers/traders have them to hand out at their tables? BCCA Can Totes available on-site for purchase? I guess I could go back to the car every once in awhile and stash them but I'm not staying at the hotel so taking them back to the room is not an option....thanks...

I will be taking a tote to the trade floor and stashing it under the table of a friend while I walk around. In return, I watch his table while he walks around. Totes will be available to purchase. I believe for about $15.

BCCA will have a large table outside of the trade floor with all their merchandise for sale.

I use cloth wine bags. They are usually divided into 6 compartments that fit 2 cans on top of each other perfectly. That is a lot less cumbersome than a big box.

If I had a friend who had a table I would keep my stuff under his table if it got to be a large amount. Otherwise you could carry a flat. When are you coming???

I'm planning to get there sometime Friday afternoon and stay through Saturday evening. Probably carry a flat or buy a tote and I do have a jacket like Rand mentioned with a ton of pockets.....

I have a softsided 6-pack cooler with shoulder strap that i take to shows and stick some plastic grocery bags in it to wrap the cans

bring your own boxes to be sure, but also make sure you keep them near someone you trust or in a safe place as things get mixed up and sometimes taken by accident or just plain lost. Be prepared for arm fulls of cans

As I recall from prior Canventions you may find some totes already pre built at the supply table. Definitely a plus! For the uninitiated they can be a challenge to build! I'm looking for California Flats and cones if you have any?
