baseball question

#1

Post by Dixie Dave »

I'm going to the Red Sox v. Indians game on Wednesday night. My buddy who will be with me is a big autograph hound. What is the protocol for seeking autographs at a major league ball park? I know you can often get autographs before the game while the teams are warming up. How long before the game is this? What other opportunities are there for autographs? Do players sign after the game, and if so, when and where? I know after a football game, you can catch players before they get on the bus. Does that work for baseball, and if so, where do I go by Progressive Field to do this? My buddy is really intent on scoring some autographs, and I'd like to help him do it if I can.

I know, this is a weird question, but I'm not familiar with major league ballparks and I figured someone here would be able to answer this.

And while I'm asking, is downtown safe enough to walk in after the game? I plan to walk back up Ontario to the hotel afterwards. Thanks in advance for your patience and any local help with my questions.

The best way would probably be to show up hours before during batting practice and hang out close to the dugouts. Some players will sign and others not. You will likely see others crowded around a certain area before the game doing the same thing.
