Holiday bock flat

#1

Post by Ziphippie »

Hi Jim- long time listener, first time poster on your show. I got both of these air-sealed Holiday bocks from a Ccc employee. I often see this can, with the nine tooth seam on the left, in others 'flat top' collections. They usually have a '70's silver bottom lid placed on top- was this ever a real flat top with the nine-tooth seam or just a common mistake? The only difference I can see is the seam and the original flat top goat is much lighter in color. Bjorn

To my knowledge, the nine tooth was issued as a tab, and as a bank can. Interesting that your non-CCC can is the dark goat. I have a non-CCC with a light goat. The CCC can was also a common bank, less common as a flat.

thank you for clarifying that, they both are Ccc just did not stand out in the pictures. Ever see an aluminum top like the one I have or was this just an employee playing around again? Bjorn

Aluminum tops smells like aftermarket to me. I believe there were a large group of these cans that were never filled.
